Initial Cell Destruction by Microbes

I took some pictures of a leafy structure that had been soaking in water where protozoans had been active. This is the initial stage of immersion and attack by protozoans. In the first pictures the surface of the plant is only minimally exposed to the microbes. In the second section the microbes has several days of full exposure to the plant. Only one actual microbe was visible, but the biological action has exposed some of the internal structure of the plant.
