Dear Membership -- Here's information about a new Workshop Exercise Program that will be introduced here at Wild starting today, Friday, September 09, 2005. _________________________________________________ Title: WPF's Worshop Exercise Program Objectives: To stimulate more member involvement in Wild. To educate and teach our membership, particularly beginning writers, poetry/writing skills, techniques, and theories. Description: On Friday of each week, a Workshop Exercise will be posted by moderators. It will ask members to participate in a variety of writing exercises. Most of the exercises will be taken from writing books on the market, though some will be created by WPF Staff. The Exercise participants will then have six days to complete the Exercise. The weekly Exercise thread will then be shut down and moved to ELECTROMAGNETISM, our Archive Forum, where members may access them on a read-only basis. Unlike the Weekly Creativity Challenges, the Workshop Exercises will NOT be judged. WPF Admin and Staff will comment on the entries and our membership is encouraged to comment as well. These exercises may not result in complete poems, but the techniques and skills taught by them will be most useful in constructing future poems. Most of the Exercises will be constructed with beginning writers in mind; however, seasoned pros are encouraged to participate in them as well. These Exercises will cover basic writing skills. You can use them to learn fundamental writing techniques if you are new to writing, or dislodge yourself from writer’s block if that has set in. The exercises will be fun in addition to challenging. The Workshop Exercise Program is open to members only, so you must be a registered member of Wild to participate. Moderators and other staff at WPF ARE eligible to participate in the Exercises. You can post as many responses to each week’s Exercise as you wish. There is no monetary compensation connected with this Workshop Exercise Program. The terms and conditions of this Workshop Exercise Program are subject to change at any time.
